We certainly don’t. Here, at Anywhere But Here Publications, the vision is all in the name. We’ve all been there: that meeting that’s soul-crushingly boring (the third of the day), stuck in traffic, sitting worried for hours in an emergency room. Sometimes people just need an escape, just for a while.

Our principals here at Anywhere But Here are:

1. It’s not a sin to be entertained.

2. In a hard world, people need a break — just for their own sanity.

3. Stories are a wonderful way to quickly and cheaply escape the pressures of the day.

4. Saying escapism is silly is like saying vacation is silly.   

5. Stories are what weave our lives together, they’re worth thinking about.

We’d never suggest people just “give up” and turn their back on the important work they do in the world; on the contrary, if your work is difficult and important, we feel you deserve a break now and again, just for a while.
